    "No Definition Update"

    November 25, 2008  |   By Integrity

    GUI looks ok.

Definitions do NOT update, see below.

I have a Vista Home Premium OS on a Gateway notebook. I have downloaded and installed Avira about 4 times and tried to download Definition updates at least a dozen times after each new installation, at different times of the day. I have downloaded the program from 3 independent sites. I have NOT yet attained a definition update due to a server error. I do NOT have any problems with any of my other 6 protection programs.
Any protection program that does not update is USELESS. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

    1. you should not have (approx) more than 2 protection program.
    2. Try to update Avira after disabling firewall.
    3. check "HOST" files doesnt blok avira server (may be caused by virus).
if you have any query, do let me know.
