"Excellent Anti-Virus, Good Internet Security, OK Spam"
I started my life using MAcfee and Norton anti-virus, and then when both became resource heavy, and Symantec's licensing became intolerable I switched to ZoneAlarm. With my ZoneAlarm lic about to lapse I decided to test drive Kaspersky's internet security suite. The Anti-Virus seems to be much more thorough than ZoneAlarm, picking up a few (albeit minor) bugs ZoneAlarm ignored. Also I really like the real time anti-virus file and web monitoring. Kaspersky's Firewall is fine; like all firewall programs it is as smart as the people who use it. With proper configuration it seems to do its job, and one nice thing I've noticed is that once its out of Training Mode Kaspersky's firewall is a lot less "noisy" than Zone Alarm's firewall. No constant prompts.
The Spam filter is just OK. I prefer the filter built directly in Mozilla Thunderbird. Kaspersky Internet Suite is more expensive than Zone Alarm, even when you go for the direct download. Most Internet Reviews claim that Kaspersky uses less computer resources, but seems to use about the same as Zone Alarm, maybe a touch less. Although I am sure both programs are light consumers of resources when juxtaposed against Norton, MAcfee, or TrendMicro.
