"The network is reborn! No more Ares...Its all decentralized!"

    August 5, 2006  |   By CableguyTK

Its free (at least the FREE version is...i dont think there is an actual benefit to the PRO version).

    It has an awesome interface.

It comes with a lot of cool features which try to make the product more than JUST a P2P filesharing program. It comes with built in web browsing (IE6) WITH tabs, RSS feeder, media (movie/audio) player with optional OGG vorbis plugin, CD ripping plugin, CD burning plugin (Pro version only).

Allows bandwidth throttling in both directions.

Network is completely decentralized. No central server.

    BitTorrent support (future versions).

    DHT for downloading! Awesome.

Network is kind of small at this time (8/5/06)...117,000. This equates to a smaller amount of content and fewer download sources when compared to the big boys...BitTorrent, GNUTella, MP2P...etc.

Certain features are not available, or limited...or so Warez wants you to believe...unless you buy into the PRO version. Personally I dont care about the 6-months of updates (since you can already get updates for free for the free version). The CD burning plugin is worthless since you can use Windows XP to burn CDs...you dont need WarezP2P to do it. And I think the speed/search limiting in the free version is a bunch of cr@p, just like Limewire with Limewire Pro.

It, by default, automatically puts itself into the windows startup. I would prefer this be turned off by default, then allow the user to change this later.

It looks like it will be another great filesharing program with a unique network backing it. The great thing is that they have removed all the adware and advertisements which were a staple in the 2.X versions of the program...so this program is 100% clean, which can obviously be seen by the fact that download.com has chosen to list it :). I suggest you give a try...its getting a lot of positive feedback on its download speeds from users who have given it a try on filesharing forums.
