"Best photo management software ... period"
Pros
Google's Picasa was once a rather useless tool in its initial versions; however, with Picasa v 2, Google stepped up and created something completely unlike anything else: an easy-to-use, intuitive, user-friendly photo management utility which interfaces with Google's Web Albums extremely well. This version simply adds to the greatness of this product. Not to mention that its free. Even Adobe's Bridge can't really compare to the ease of Picasa. When it comes to batch editing and posting photos online, Picasa can not be beat.
Cons
While it can't be beat in terms of quickness and ease of use, it is not a fully-functioning photo editor. Don't believe this will replace Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro or Gimp. This is not a con so much as a recognition of Picasa's place in the overall digital photo world--as a media manager, it is hands down phenomenal. Just don't expect it to replace your full-time photo editors.

Thank you for a comprehensive review. I read all the rest of the reviews and still had no idea that Picasa had changed or what it had to offer. I am a little leery of the Google products.
Thank you FargoUT, I believe I will give it a try.
