    "Great simple photo editor"

    Pros

    Irfanview makes many tasks fairly easy. Sometimes it is MUCH easier than Photoshop, and it's fast.

    Cons

    The interface is a bit quirky and some of the options are a bit hard to decipher.

    Summary

    I use Irfanview mostly for quick photo resizing and sometimes for format conversions. It makes batch processing easy and fairly straightforward. The interface is sometimes puzzling but the program works great and it does not hog resources. The 'optional' plug-in download is a must have because it adds several useful tools. I've used the program for years under both Win XP 32 bit and Win 7 64 bit and I have not found any major problems.
