Most start-up problems are caused by having old drivers or Direct X files, we recommend updating to the latest version of both.
You can get the latest NVIDIA drivers from:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
And the latest ATI drivers from:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
You can get a more recent version of Direct X from:
