I am old enough to remember the fuss back in the 50's when TV shows were using this VERY SAME TECHNIQUE to get people to buy products. It was so successful that it was banned! It was considered the use of an unfair advantage to get unwitting TV viewers to want things they wouldn't otherwise want. Since then, advertisers have developed a different set of "subliminal" messages in their commercials - scantily clad women - handsome men - idyllic settings - etc.
Subliminal Message Pro for Mac OS X gives you the same advantage over your subconscious mind! The interface is well designed and very intuitive. You can control how often a message flashes on the screen, its duration, font size and color of text and how dark it is. I have mine set to flash every 15 seconds, stay on screen for 5 milliseconds, in a darkish gray text at 60% darkness. You may find the flash on the screen a little distracting at first, but you'll quickly get used to it. Try the settings above, and you might get used to it even quicker.
Subliminal Message Pro for Mac OS X comes with a well thought out default list of messages in the categories of Health, Wealth, Happiness, Social and Success. It allows you to add your own messages, too. I have added a few of my own - "I am slim and healthy," "I am a Money Magnet," "Money Loves Me," "Money comes easily and frequently," "I wake up happy every day," "I am a successful writer," "I love myself," "I love my life," "I am grateful for everything," and a few more.
The things I would improve are minor. I would like to be able to stretch the Message Maintenance window so I could see more of the messages at once, rather than having to scroll so much. And I would like to be able to add my own categories.
I've seen similar shareware programs for Windows costing $30 - $40. One group sells different programs for each thing you want to work on - weight loss - quit smoking - money, etc. for $20 each. At only $10, Subliminal Message Pro for Mac OS X is definitely the best bargain I've seen for this type of program.
The developer was quick and responsive when I had a comment.
I review dozens of software titles every year and I like this one better than most. If you are looking for a good subliminal message system for your Mac, I recommend this one highly.
