"Get this one, not 1.2.6!"
Pros
Vast improvement in features and performance over 1.2.6. Powerful and flexible tools for editing, sound cleaning, and organizing for export. Hasn't crashed yet.
Cons
Online help only, but that has recently improved. Export Multiple still lacks granular controls.
Summary
After a few weeks of using 1.2.6, I was reaching the conclusion that it was a clunky, buggy, crashy mess. I tried 1.3.11 as an alternative to going to another sound editor entirely. It is the difference between night and day. 1.3.11 feels like a complete product, while 1.2.6 feels like the beta. The menus are better organized, controls for editing and playback are improved and co-ordinated with each other, the label track feature is vastly improved, and it is much easier to manage tracks for export. You can minimize tracks. H/M/S controls and readouts are provided for selection and playback position. Locked loop playback allows you to edit within the playback loop without having to zoom out and reset the loop constantly. The repair selection function automates what was previously a time-consuming process doing corrections by hand with the sample editor. Equalizers are improved. The envelope feature is improved. But none of this would matter if it were not stable.
