"Audacity: How to fix QuickTime audio problem"

    February 9, 2005  |   By sanjef

This is a great program that enables me to record analog audio from a simple tape player and convert it to MP3 files (podcasting sermons for my church web site).

It completely killed QuickTime's audio delivery system! Apple Support was stumped and was about to send me on an archive and install crusade. Luckily, I came across a forum posting in which it was discovered simply launching GarageBand apparently repairs corrupted QuickTime libraries.

Will I consider reinstalling Audacity? Yes - but I'm a little shy about breaking QuickTime again.

Downloaded Audacity recorder, have not understood how to use it yet. Too many things grayed out. Unable to find instructions on how to record from cassette tapes with line input on desktop. Lack of information on use makes it unuseable.
