    "Add a feeling of comfort"

    November 30, 2010  |   By Diluvium

It is just unobtrusively sitting there and doing its work.

Its apparent difficulties in dealing with Adobe Flash Player updates. It seems like Secunia itself is the culprit of detecting falls positives.

The way that whats and why's are explained adds to a feeling of comfort, in spite of fundamental distrust of free programs. And especially in spite of fundamental distrust of free programs that do not carry blatant advertising.
With regard to the Flash Player mess: if Secunia is able to pinpoint the precise culprits of the falls positives, why can't it provide a simple deletion mechanism instead of sending the user to wade through the system files? Wouldn't that be safer?
