"Free and clear! A great IRC client."
In response to other reviews, I have analyzed this application on the basis of technical merit. I have successfully maintained a connection for over 12 hours on three servers in rooms of 200+ people each. IceChat did not even register as using practically any of my processor, and it only utilized around 10 megabytes of RAM. The IceChat IRC network is not even included as a default server, so if this is merely an advertisement, it's not a very good attempt. In watching the installation procedure, only a local registry hive was created as well as a few non-generic DLLs registered. This is hardly an installation that even has the capability of causing someone to reinstall Windows. The installation is a clean process, the interface is clean, and overall, I would recommend this program to any IRC user. Probably one of the best features is the back-buffer of things that you type allowing you to go back to that question that's been ignored in an IRC room for the last 30 minutes. Kudos, IceChat!
