    "Has promise!"

    February 27, 2010  |   By JCitizen

Does block hooks globally. Support staff seems dilligent.

Can't get HTML help file to load. blocks programs globally which is too intrusive.

This program only seems to concern itself with global hooks, which is too all encompassing to guarantee your safety. Works on x64 Windows! After you give permission to programs you need, there is too much Internet Explorer activity to trust. Internet Explorer, Internet Messenger, and FireFox should never be allowed to read your keyboard, screen, or sound; but there seems to be no way to get this granular control. I can't find the information to see if this is possible.

I will continue to watch this program to see how things develope; we need a program like Snoopfree Privacy Sheild for Vista/Win 7 systems. Hopefully Spy Shelter works at the kernel level, or meta-kernel, to block inputs and outputs at a very low level in the operating environment. Believe me, this capability is worth paying for - probably the only way to interfer with Zues type variants that have not totally highjacked your browser to your banking site.

If this utility could be made to simply block Internet Explorer, Internet Messenger, and FireFox, keyboard, and video,I would gladly pay the price for this program!! Since they seem to be continualy improving it, I would try this program and see if they have changed the granular control so this goal could be achieved. Well worth watching in my not so humble opinion! Ask anyone who has used Snoopfree Privacy Shield on XP, and you will see why Spy Shelter could be a very important addition to your PC security. In fact THE most important factor in an in-depth defense!!

I do not work for any person or company, I just hate malware to pieces!!!

P.S. - The GUI looks suspiciously like something I tried ay back in the Windows 95 DOS days, I can't be sure but it seemed like the same product from back then.
