"Not up to speed with Windows 7"

    April 4, 2010  |   By iceman721

The Itunes store has a lot of great choices and they finally dropped DRM.

Ripping a CD takes forever. I know its not the computer as it has 6GB of DDR3 and a fast 500GB HD and a fast dual core processor. It is a Windows 7 64 bit machine which is where I think the problem is. The Zune 4.0 software works much better.

This software on a Windows machine is a drag. I wanted an Ipod Touch but have reconsidered and think I will purchase a Zune HD. The Itunes software's poor functionality on Windows 7 64 bit has a lot to do with why I will likely choose a Zune to manage my extensive music collection. The Zune store's last update also included much more as far as video which it previously lacked up against the Itunes store. I also have issues with the fact that the Itunes software doesn't find all of my unprotected music. I don't like having to create a playlist to burn a CD. This reminds me too much of Microsoft Excel. I am comparing it directly to the Zune 4.0 software because I feel as though that's its direct rival for anyone using it in a Windows environment. The Itunes software is just not as intuitive. The devices are great (Ipods/Itunes) but I personally will buy a different device (Zune HD) so that I can have better software which I will frequently use. Sorry but MS is ahead of Apple when it comes to the software and software matters.
