    "It's ok, but better options exist"

    Overall I'm not too impressed with ffmpegX. The UI is a bit confusing and I've been having a lot of trouble with the program creating 0 kb files. My prefered app is MPEG-Streamclip. It's boasts great conversion options, a far better interface, automatic joining of VOB files, and many other cool features. If you're having trouble with ffmpegX, check out Streamclip!
