"Spyware not on unless you dont read"

    June 27, 2011  |   By urje808

    Pros

I ripped 2 cds to FLAC and it worked well.

    Cons

Dont download the toolbar and other stuff, just download the actual program in custom install. Just 1 item is needed, dont get the desktop items and stuff.

    Summary

If you dont read while installing, most software now has a toolbar (thats how they are freeware, nothing is for free so they have to get advertisement to pay for it). Just check any install on the custom and quick installs. If you do a quick install be aware it will probably have you add on a toolbar or other things you dont want. This program actually shows exactly what you can remove from install on that box when you have to select. Just go custum, uncheck everything but the actual program install (1st one and it does say required).
One guy said something about the "info" button, there is a box that comes up often, I would never click that I just close it. Most freeware programs like this ask if you want to upgrade to a paid version at some point or even excessively. It's "freeware" what do you expect lol.
I ripped a few cd's to FLAC and it was quick and easy. I would suggest that you change the location of where it rips to prior to ripping. It's the folder on the top right.
The program itself did not bring up any malware or spyware warnings on Avast or on Malwarebytes. I even did a specific scan in program files and nothing.
If you had to install a toolbar etc when downloading a program, I would agree with the bad reviews on what it can do, but you clearly have the option to exclude it on the install. These guys jumped the gun and didnt read while doing the install. Also, most often when you download a toolbar, it will automatically change your homepage, which you can easily change back. If you do download toolbars, they can be a pain to remove. You can always disable them by right clicking on the bar and uncheck it, disable.

FINALLY somebody else who is paying attention!!

I swear there's so many people out there that should not own a computer because they click everything they don't see.

    Thanks for clarifying this, urje808
