"Easy to use... easy to detect... buggy"

    April 7, 2012  |   By BigGuns149

    Pros

The UI was really easy to use. I was able to write to a remote network share using a user other than the user I was tracking, which is awesome in that you can write to share that the user being tracked can't access. This is a must for a business.

I also like that the logs are encrypted preventing snooping.

    Cons

I think the biggest bug was that it the DB seemed grow exponentially. I discovered that every snapshot seemed to include previous snapshots from the day so in 3 days monitoring only 3 machines for 8 hours I went through almost 100GB of space. If you want frequent snapshots you are going to burn through storage space VERY quickly.

This product is easily detected by most AV software, but most of the major monitoring software is easily detected.

I found that machines running it seemed less stable. I also noticed that some machines for some reason couldn't write the network share no matter what the settings. There is an FTP option that I used instead.

    Summary

If you have a lot of storage relative to the number of users or don't mind keeping a lower number of screenshots this is a promising product. If they ironed out some of the bugs and made the UI a little better this would be a decent product.
