This looks like a promising piece of software, and I'm curious how it would handle my crashed hard drive. However, I'm not willing to pay the money to satisfy my curiosity, when I already have a program that cost less to do the same basic functions. When I took another look at MiniTool Power Data Recovery, I changed my mind, and shelled out $59 to register. Unlike the other, less-expensive software that I previously purchased, MiniTool restores the original file names and the original directory structure.

My registered copy of MiniTool has been pulling data off my bad 3 TB drive and dumping it on my new 3 TB drive for the last 4 hours. By the looks of its progress, it may take a few days to complete its task. Even so, I have now recovered the files that meant so much to me. Unlike their condition when I used the other software, my files retrieved by MiniTool have their original names, correct directory structure and are completely intact! The other program had damaged several of the restored video files, but MiniTool has retrieved those same files completely intact and perfectly playable.
In light of this superior performance, I would give the registered version of MiniTool Power Data Recovery 5 stars.
