    "Good, but be careful"

    February 2, 2011  |   By DSHornet

Always worked great in the past, easy to use, great graphical representation of what it's doing while running.

Introduced disk errors that Windows had to correct. Keep your data backups current! You do back up your data, don't you?

I've used Auslogics disk defrag in the past and never had a problem with it. It always ran reliably and quickly. This version, however, was different. After I ran it on my desktop computer, after restarting, Win XP ran a bunch of repairs before it finished booting. To say the least, this makes me nervous. I also downloaded it to my laptop, but I deleted it before trying to run it on that machine, too. I don't know why it happened, but I will shy away from the Auslogics defrag program and, instead, stay with JKDefrag which has never (in five years of use) given me any reason to doubt its reliablilty.
