"It works, apparently."
Free Partitioning Software!
It supports Win7 x64!
It seemed to work fine on my RAID 5 hard drive configuration.
Good User Interface.
It is ridiculously SLOW.
It lost the assigned drive letter for the final parttion.
I have used other hard drive partitioning software in the past. For the last few years, I have used the Acronis Disk Director Suite. However, Acronis DD doesn't support Win7 x64 yet.
So, I download PW HE5.0. While it did work, but it took about 1 1/2 hours to expand an existing 500 GB partition into a 200 GB unallocated space next door (700 GB final).
On Acronis DD, a simple operation like this would have only taken a few minutes. However, PW-HE5 apparently resizes the partition, and then recopies all of the files into the new partition. I guess the new partition will be pretty much defragmented, at least (which it was).
A minor inconvenience was that the assigned drive letter was lost after the partition expansion. I had previously assigned a different drive letter for the partition, and it was changed the next available drive letter. I'm not sure what would have happened if the primary boot partition / OS partition was resized. My OS may not have rebooted if I had changed any of those drive letters. Again, this wasn't a problem with Acronis DD.
This software would have gotten a solid 5 from me if the resizing was quicker and the assigned drive letter didn't get lost.
