    "Love this free program"

    February 20, 2010  |   By PiCASSiMO

I can work all my Windows applications and peripherals for free on my Mac.

    I have no cons.

Can't really complain about this free program... where I have both Windows XP and Ubuntu 9.10 installed on my iMac with OS X 10.6.

As far as I understand there are two ways in which these virtual machines can run, as a partition on your hard drive or as a parallel system. I have been told that a partition is a bad idea because the host system can be infected by viruses from the virtual system (especially a problem when you use a Mac and want to avoid PC and Windows viruses). So I install the virtual machine planning to run it as a parallel system, but when installing Windows XP, it asks me how I want the hard disk to be partitioned. Does this mean that this program only has the option of running the virtual machine with a partitioned hard drive? Don't really have experience with this type of program so any feedback would be appreciated.
