"Easy to use, but filled with nonsense"

    March 1, 2010  |   By joelkatz

    Easy to use.
    Nice looking.
Does what is says it does.

Filled with snake oil and changes that have no effect on performance.

If you're not a PC expert, you're going to be doing all kinds of things that provide no performance benefit whatsoever. Registry "optimization" does not fix any problems and has no measurable performance impact. RAM "optimization" generally makes things worse, not better, by discarding information that the computer may later just have to read from disk.

They made a huge effort to include everything so they could have checkboxes on item by item comparisons, whether or not the thing included made any sense or had any benefit. The net result is a very mixed bag.
