"It's free and doesn't require uninstallation"

    January 30, 2013  |   By Parpaluck

    Pros

It's free and doesn't require uninstallation or reinstallation of something Microsoft intentionally...forgot

    Cons

Adds yet another layer between a power-user and the best functions in Windows 7

    Summary

This is the problem from my viewpoint: StartMenu8 adds one more layer in the way of a power-user (not a kiddish swiper of photos).

I just hold the Windows key with my left thumb and simultaneously press D with my left index-finger to get to my old Desktop (without the Start button, though).

The latest version is even better! Easy to boot directly to the Desktop and switch to Metro... and back and forth ... very easily. I found Start Menu 8 to be totally safe and error-free.

I believe this utility changed Microsoft mind. They will release a FIX to Windows 8 that incorporates the good old Start button!
