    "NOT RECOMENDED IF"

    October 22, 2010  |   By GEO2003

    Pros

It combines several modules into one program

    Cons

Every module has a Restore Point and Backup that you have to set but under the GENERAL SETTINGS, there is another Restore Point and Backup boxes.
This is confusing, yu will think that if you checked mark those boxes, then every Module would default.

    Summary

    NOT RECOMENDED IF.
You are using Any 64 bit operating system.

First - Comodo's own website indicates that is compatible with both 32 and 64 bit operating systems.
The problem is that not even their own site sets them appart (Not the Portable Version) so when I install it in my computer running Windows 7 64 bit - The application installed itself as a 32 bit application.

Right there IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM THAT I NOTICED.
Immediately after doing a Register Scan, it selected over 100 entries corresponding to 64 bit pointers on the Register.

That means that it COULD SERIOUSLY CREATE PROBLEMS as you install 64 bit applications.

IT SHOUDL KNOW - That the 64 bit pointer on a 64 bit Operating System should not be marked for cleaning - but that was not the case.

I don't undertand from many reviewers including Cnet, did not noticed this problem.

So if it install as a 32 bit applications on my 64 bit system - that is not consider as SUPPORTING 64 BIT OS's as stated on their website.

For people who have Windows 32 bit OS - is a better bet that the program will work as advertise.

I WOULD CAUTION 64 BIT USERS - to pay attention to the register entries that it marks for cleaning.

THE OTHER PROBLEM WITH THE APPLICATION -
Yes it creates backups for what they called SafeDelete - BUT the backups offers no particular name just the date.

After doing several cleaninsgs - if you happen not to use a particular application hence you not noticing that the application was not longer working as it should - there is no clue as to what backup date to restore.

That means you would have to reverse every possible backup until your application starts working again.

I am not saying the applications does not work well, as i ussed in the past their stand alone version for Registry Cleaning.
But then again, that was a 32 bit application on a 32 bit OS.

HOWEVER IT IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHEN IT TRIES TO CLEAN 64 BIT POINTERS ON A 64 BIT OS.
