"At last - a driver update solution"

    October 2, 2012  |   By Elliott Minor

    Pros

I paid $29 for the pro version. The scan discovered 15 outdated drivers on my Asus UX-31 ultrabook and downloaded them rapidly. I'd like to emphasize that the download speeds were excellent.

    Cons

Of the 15 driver updates, all but one seemed to work fine. A Fresco Logic USB3 driver didn't work. I downloaded that from the Asus Web site so that problem was easily overcome. A couple of times I got a message asking to install items I didn't recognize. I opted for "No" each time. Didn't seem to make any difference.

    Summary

I don't think I could live with the free version and it's limitations. I've been ripped off before by so-called driver download services. This one seems to work. Wish I could afford it on all my computers.

Bought a second pro license for a new laptop. Driver Max updated 14 drivers, including key ones that run the display, audio, WiFi and various controllers. Until DriverMax, I never had a reliable, consistent method of updating drivers. DriverMax does this for me.
