The second "adding Panther support" upgrade to wreck my 10.2.8 system/software in the past month. Sloppy. Inexcusable (only if this were a one person shareware outfit would I cut them a break--and, ironically, those folks seem to have been day-and-date with their functional Panther updates). The other installer's manufacturer finally acknowledged that the Panther updater would corrupt/crash pre 10.3 systems. Let's see if Norton fesses up to issues with this update. Their update/upgrade program has been horrifically overpriced, but up until OS X, at least the stuff worked...

I've used Norton Utilities since the mid-90s. I'm now considering a full abandonment of their seems Symantec has done all but that. If I could just have rock-solid 10.2/10.3 defrag and disk management under one app, I'll be happy. Hell, the Windows folks are right--this stuff should be included in the OS itself!
