Hi, I'm the author of the package.
I've tried to make the installer as clear as possible. There are instructions in the package to prevent issues such as yours. During install the first page states "Please use the easy installation if you are unsure of which components to install.", if you ignore this and change DXVA settings or S/PDIF/HDMI settings when your system does not support them you will see a blank video screen. Also, in the DXVA and S/PDIF/HDMI pages you will see "If you are unsure of these settings please just click Apply".
Again, back with the first install page it also states "Please uninstall any other Codec Pack before you continue.", if you ignore this you are likely to have a blank screen, because codec packs cannot co-exist.
