    "Uninstalled"

    July 9, 2012  |   By Mergatroid Mania

    Pros

    Don't know.

    Cons

Won't work with Media Player and Blu-ray

    Summary

I had no problems playing any video. Got a new blu-ray drive and wanted to play blu-rays. Downloaded the codec pack which specifically says it can be used with blu-rays and Media Player. Installed, tested...doesn't work. Media Player errors out when trying to play a blu-ray. Everything else still works, but the only reason I installed it was for the blu-ray codec.

Hi, I'm the author of the package. It clearly states above "As an optional extra users can try AnyDVD HD, which allows playback of protected BluRay's, DVD's, and CD's. If selected, the codec pack will also set BluRay and AVCHD discs to automatically play in Windows Media Player."
BluRay playback of encrypted discs does not work without "AnyDVD HD". It was stated on this page, stated on the last page of the installer, and also on my website. BluRay playback also has quite high hardware requirements.
In the next version I will be removing the AnyDVD HD trial for BluRay playback as it appears some users cannot understand the requirement.
