    "I have simple needs"

    October 2, 2010  |   By rickl1

    Pros

    Fast
    Easy to use
Doesn't take a lot of CPU

    Cons

    Doesn't record
    Not sexy.

    Summary

Looking at the same XVid file in VLC and DivX player, the DivX picture is a little sharper. RealPlayer lets me download video clips. Windows Media Player comes with the OS. But if you want something that will always work, not take up a lot of space or use a lot of CPU cycles VLC is a great choice. It's what I have on my netbook and my nettop.

    Updated on Oct 2, 2010

It is updated frequently, doesn't add toolbars, media subscriptions, spyware, or advertising. It also does not open web pages you didn't ask for!
