"Good but not as good as Firefox's adblocker plus"

    February 17, 2010  |   By thegoldenstandard

Does a very decent job of removing most types of ads.

It just doesn't compare to the more established adblockers (yet).

When I saw that there was an effective adblock extension for chrome, I was really excited because that's the only reason I use Firefox, even though it' slow and freezes petty often (for me), I installed Chrome, made it my default browser, installed the adblock for Chrome, and took it for a spin. I was pleased to see that it did in fact remove banner ads (mostly), but it did not remove the ads that appear before flash movies on Cnet, as well as other specialized types of ads. For me this was a deal-breaker, because the adblocker plus for Firefox does all of the above. So here I am, typing this review in Firefox again.
