    "Works Fine Sometimes"

    November 1, 2010  |   By ceomrman

Unlike Adobe's product, Foxit doesn't try to take over your system. The download is much smaller, the program runs faster, and I prefer the Foxit interface to Adobe's.

Foxit seems to have a lot of trouble printing.

I've had Foxit installed for a long time, but for the last several years (since 3.x) it has been refusing to print anything unless I've just rebooted. It's really annoying. At the moment, I really need to print some PDF's, but Foxit won't do it. I just rebooted, but this time, that didn't even work. I run Vista x64 and a Canon inkjet printer, btw. I've done everything anyone has suggested on Foxit's support forums. There are many other people with printing problems, and a variety of solutions that don't work. I've re-installed the printer driver, uninstalled and reinstalled Foxit, even re-formatted my whole system and nothing works. No matter what, Foxit is a huge hassle to work with. I can print from any other program at any time, by the way, and everything else works on my system. I have super-standard hardware, but Foxit will not work reliably, no matter what I try.
Now I have to go download Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is a terrible, awful, no good leach, but I have no choice because Foxit won't print.

I have same printing problem and there is no help on support forum. I'm looking for alternative. Also the Chrome browser plugin approach is cumbersome. Download and install Firefox plugin then manually move and edit registry.
