    "Very Functional and Lightweight"

    February 23, 2010  |   By Doh_1

    Pros

Renders .pdf files well. Seems lightweight, also has less security holes.

    Cons

The controls are different than Adobe Reader, but I'm getting used to it.

    Summary

Foxit Reader does a good job of rendering .pdf documents. I still make sure that javascript is turned off as I did with Adobe Reader, but it seems to be a lot lighter weight and isn't always looking for updates. Due to the lighter weight, I gather that there are less possible security holes than in Adobe Reader, which seems to be one big security risk. However, this is my intuition speaking, based on past experience and lack of MS security bulletins and critical security updates for it.

So I'm pretty happy with it.
