"ZoneAlarm Is A Shady Software That Will Turn On You."

    September 19, 2012  |   By Several9920

ZoneAlarm did give me the ip address of a computer that was connected to mine remotely.

ZoneAlarm is too much trouble not worth the head ache or anurism it will give you.

ZoneAlarm started off great back in 2005, But after about 8 months of using it things went bazerk. I called there tech support, and the guy i spoke to was clearly a hustler. He told me i was having trouble with the firewall because i was using the free version and he insisted i use a paid version. To make a long story short, I bought the paid version. After about 4 days my system started crashing, ZoneAlarm firewall wouldn't even allow me to open up my internet browser. Then i called tech support again and the same guy answered. But this time he asked me what version of windows was i running, I told him windows XP Home Edition. He then blurted out ZoneAlarm isn't for Xp and i would need Win2000, Linux, or a Mac pc. I just surrendered and uninstalled, I wasted between 37-45 bucks in total. Most firewalls are garbage, But ZoneAlarm was by far the worst of any i have used. Even after i uninstalled it i kept having trouble with my computer. So i decided to search my computer, and low and behold i started finding ZoneAlarm folders all throughout my entire hard drive. It was still in the system registry, control panel, Documents and settings etc. To be on the safe side i just did a reinstall of my operating system to make sure it was gone. It costs me money and time lesson learned is to stick with the windows firewall.

Wow you definitely kept me from wasting my time with ZoneAlarm. I was looking for some software to try and I'm glad I read your review. If you still haven't found a good alternative then you should try Comodo! I've been using their free services for years and they've never let me down. I trust it enough to even install it on my families computers.

ok, well the free zone alarm is a joke. It behaves more like a trojan or malware. As rich as the english language is words defy me in describing zone alarm. It is junk, it is a ******* nightmare, a gimmick. There is no unistall program with it. One cannot disable it without denial of internet connection. one can disable it with msconfig, however it replicates and changes the boot file so it loads. It behaves like a trojan. Neve have I been so discusted with this software. Anyone that writes the code for it, anywon that endorses it, should be put up against a wall and shot!! Still cannot remove this replicating virus from my registry.
One of the greatest pieces of malware on the net, and endorsed by cnet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! **** check point, fu##k zone labs.
Let the world see my post and recognise that check point, zone labs, zone alarm is really a piece of *****
