    "Keep version 9.0.114"

    November 26, 2009  |   By sweidre7

    Pros

1.) ZAP is really excellent in general!
    2.) Easy to setup!
3.) All ports are "stealth". Excellent!

    Cons

1.) Some versions of ZAP are useless!
2.) In this version the C:\Windows\Internet Logs\tvDebug.log is increasing uncontrollably fast!
3.) The support is never replying to answers any longer! Hiding!
4.) Provides no email address any longer!

    Summary

I have used ZAP since its beginning! Really good, but when you have a good version, be prepared to go back to it, because the next versions might be unusable in many senses. (It seems, that new versions are not at all tested prior to issuing). v. 9.0.114.000 is execellent! I updated to v. 9.1.008, it worked OK, until I found that the file: C:\Windows\Internet Logs\tvDebug.log was increasing in size very fast. At boot time, I could delete the file, but after using my computer for 3 minutes, the file had increased to approx. 200 MB. So I have now gone back to v. 9.0.114.000, that is great! Maybe I will keep it for years, even if many new versions are issued, until a new excellent version will suddenly appear. We users are test rabbits! So v.9.1.008 I give only one star, but v. 9.0.114.000 I gave 5 stars!

I have similar problem with huge size of tvDebug.log. A resolution from ZoneAlarm Forum (http://forums.zonealarm.com/showthread.php?t=72632) is to set Debug level to off by pressing Cntrl and Shift and Rt- click on the ZA icon in sys tray.

i can agree....the last few newer versons aren't that great.
and use up all my resources so i cant do as much.
    im running on a dual-core, win7 32-bit with 2gb of ram
and i really love ZA but they cant seem to make good firewall anymore
(one that takes less to run it).
