Great idea, but will it save the new tags so that they are readable in other programs(such as media monkey) by those of us that do not use itunes normally?

by justthatkid63 October 22, 2009 9:50 AM PDT: well I believe Tune Up will save the tags for other programs. I assume MediaMonkey is jsut a music / file player? Like windows media player, or Winamp?

Tune Up will save the tags like I said available for other programs, as long as you have the rights for the song your fixing/ retagging with Tune up. EXAMPLE : Bought songs from itunes store, ripped cd, bought files offline, amazon.com, rhapsody.

If you have downloaded the music files the tags will not save onto the actual files only to your Itunes library.; Like this

I love the idea of this app and when it worked, it was great. . . BUT every time I went to use it, it crashed my system. Blue screen of death crashed. It's probably a Vista problem, since Vista is as bad as WindowsME. Just be forewarned!

I have also started adding new music to Itunes that I previously hadn't added because it didn't have any track names or other info. It's a ton easier and faster then manually entering the information for each track. The concert feature is awesome as well it keeps you informed of any upcoming local shows by the artists in my Itunes collection, and gives a link where I can buy tickets. This is a great program which is an excellent companion to Itunes. I Highly Recommend!!; Like this Reply to this comment

There's a tool in iTunes that finds covert art as well, yet some cover art is not the original of the album (if you didn't buy the song on iTunes), or it is just a picture of the artist randomly taken. How about repeated songs, will it fix those? The problems with iTunes that it recognizes same songs from different albums (studio or live) as duplicates, and you can mistankenly erase a good ol' song.

For most songs it will fix :
Song Name
Album Composer
Artist
Album Artwork
Track Number
Cd Number
Year of Release
Genre

And for the most part not sure if I jsut did not have many repeated songs in my library but it works fine. I clean about 500 songs at a time, and it will only be unable to find or will get the incorrect info for about 15 songs I'd say each round.; Like this

Within 3 weeks of installing TuneUp companion, someone hacks my account, changes my user name and password and charges my credit card $200. Does anyone think that this could have created a vulneralbiltiy? I am not a tech guy, I am just going by corrolation. (obviously I can't spell either).; Like this Reply to this comment
