  • On GameSpot: So-called 'Halo killer' gets 23 to life

Comments on: Featured Freeware: Process Explorer

Using Windows' Task Manager can be a frustrating experience, but not to worry. Process Explorer replaces it with an intuitive tree format and loads of features so you never again have to worry about what your computer's doing behind your back.

Decent program, but I find on my computer that it quickly expands to consume all available CPU cycles. Very mysterious bug. Mostly I use What's Running, and fall back on Process Explorer only when I want to close a file handle that Explorer left open. And yes, it is always Windows Explorer that leaves a handle open when I try to use Explorer to delete a file. Microsoft should spend less time on eye candy and more on bug whacking.

I agree, Process Explorer is a good piece of software. Used to come with the Symantec suites... amazing how it remained unpolluted! =D =D
