I downloaded the new update or shall we say new installer for firefox with the latest update on it. The installation went smoothly with no error at all but when I opened firefox it isn't opening a page I mean it keeps looking for the my homepage but can't display it. Not that my dsl connection is slow but it can't open a page even I tried the google homepage. Sometimes it crashes. Is this some kind of issue? is anyone having same problem?

Before I install the new Update I already have the firefox 3 beta installed on my XP pro machine.

i only use firefox to check my email and youtube account. it reminds me of aol, 100% useless! i downloaded the update and the overhyped piece of krap wouldn't do anything. i use the world browser for everything else. firefox is so slow, takes forever to load up but i guess the add-ons are how they sucker everyone in. internet explorer seems faster than firefox. every update firefox does, it gets to be worse and worse.

I just "Check for Updates..." off the Help menu and let Firefox update itself--I've never had any problem at all. I even use the Firefox Portable Edition. But, yes, keep the extensions down to only the ones you really need--it starts up within 3 seconds or less, usually less for me; IE starts up several seconds slower on all of my machines. Since I use the Portable Edition, I can run as many as I want at the same time, each one customized for different purposes (and even multiple email accounts--Gmail and others). It's just more fun to use--you can do so much more with it.

When I downloaded this, it also broke my firefox.

All my extensions were messed up (which can be fixed by deleting all the files in your profile folder that starts with extensions.(whatever) and restarting firefox).

I also seem to have a problem with the speeddial extension.

Also, whenever I try to use it to check e-mail or google or anything else, it still hangs until I close it and then randomly shuts down about 10-20 minutes later so I can restart the process.

Congrats, security-hole-fixer, you've broken my firefox.
