Sorry to see that AVG no longer offers free rootkit detection seperately. These bundled services are how security companies make money, but why eliminate the free stand-alone version? Which is what they have done as you can no longer update it.

It slows down computers with Windows VIsta(especially HOME BASIC) and also the system malfunctions(hardware and software problem). Hmmm I guess this is one of the corns of Vista. I have AVG Free Edition 7.5.524 installed. How come I cannot the free v8.0? Other people I know have done it.

I Uninstalled it from my VISTA OS
I installed it two times and the Downloads were each "successful" however the .exe it does NOT show up on my monitor
Perhaps this new Cnet site is interfering with the downloads.
I'll try Lavasoft instead.; Like this
