when you go to the junk file remover page, look at the top line where it says scan, press that button.

I wish I'd known about this tool before I removed all the trialware and junk that'd I found on my kids' three new out-of-the-box big-name desktop machines. I worked a long time at it , but never felt that I actually achieved clean loads.

Maybe it would still help now? It sounds like Revo can function a bit like a registry cleaner. Or should I just look for a good registry cleaner?

KIds,

I'd watch this one - I ran it on 2 machines (unfortunately simultaneously) and had Norton WinDoctor light up like a Christmas tree. I now have a ton of "unreachable files" and "missing executables." I'm not too impressed, by golly...

It's funny to keep tracks of the posts here!

neutronium, I was a big fan of Norton WinDoctor 10 years ago! WinDoctor helped me a lot. Since version 2006 I'm very disappointed and WinDoctor is not reliable at all. Free Registry Cleaners are even better.

Norton WinDoctor has a feature to find a solution for the problems and that solution is not a solution in most of the cases!!!

I'll give you an example! You wrote that you have missing executables - when WinDoctor searches for solution it checks all executables on your hard disk drives for dependency problems. The dependency problem of an executable is that a dll file is missing and that executable can not be executed /started. Windows XP has WinSxS - SidebySide folder where are all distributed dll files are saved and managed. Norton WinDoctor mises that technology and shows errors everywhere and guess what, that was a very simple example and only one example...there are a lot more

Fix not existing errors? Scary the user and he will buy?

Revo Uninstaller is a freeware uninstall utility to help the users, but it is not for newbies! It requires a little attention, because user have to choose what to fix and what not. Fixing only not existing errors is 100% harmless !

I have been frustrated with trying to uninstall software that the uninstaller file has 'gone miissing'. Revo clearly identified the remaining files that had to be removed and works fine for me

Tried many of these so called removers. Revo is the best of them all.

However, do not use the Maximum option. It will often also remove programs you need for other applications. I have never gotten in trouble with the MODERATE option for removal.

Sounds like a great program; however, I am getting anti-virus alerts immediately upon download from AWG and AdAware. Tried downloading from several sources with same results. No way this is worth a virus in my computer. I need specific reassurances from reliable sources before I will install it!

I'm forever hunting around for the best freeware utilities out there and I perform a lot of PC maintenance/repairs. This is my first ever review but once I'd tried Revo, I was compelled to post my comments. First off, Revo is such a sleek and well conceived program, I can't believe it's offered as freeware. I would happily have paid for this effective little utility.

I've tried several uninstallers in the past, but this one definitely deserves a 5 Star rating.
