Comments on: Return of the llama: Winamp 5.5 impresses
Winamp and its llama mascot upgrade to 5.5, and continue to impress with a new UI and improved features like in-player browsing. But it's not an iTunes killer...yet.

I'm just looking for a program that loves podcasts, especially video.
It must be on my computer, not online.
I have my music elsewhere - so it would be strictly podcasts.
And I'm sick of ITunes.
WIN sounds great, and I'm going to check out the others mentioned by posters above.
Any other ideas, I'd be greatful to give a shot.
Thanks in Advance;
Curt
Music CDs have gone the way of the horse and buggy and I suspect that all this DRM protection nonsense is more about artificially preserving this antiquated hardware rather than protecting artists.
Yes, it does have very many problems with very many files. But, it is as stable as it gets. Sound output is better than the Apple counterpart, and video is as good as it gets.
The very alternative to any player in any platform, though "ugly" by today standars of whitness and clean aspect and crisp and smooth and "aluminum" fake finishes is VLC.
It does play whatever you throw to it, and it is a valid "check" program to see whether your encoding has been propperly done.
