Comments on: Postbox gets extensions

Considering that it's based on Mozilla Thunderbird, it was a bit of a surprise that add-ons weren't available for Postbox when it debuted. That's now been remedied.

I've been using Postbox since late 2008 and have found it to be the best email client for my needs. Search, tagging (topics), and conversation view are all useful features, as is the support for Facebook and Twitter. Lots of potential now with add-ons.

Highly recommended for small business users and anyone looking for more from your email than you can get from gmail/webmail.

Postbox is not open source. Or is it? I couldn't find an answer either on their website or on their blog.

I tried it and went back to Thunderbird. It would not open PDF attachments.

Hi Oh great one!
I have just bought a new e-machine as my last one bit the dust and seized-(that's another issue) -This new one seems to have french accent included...so it may be a Candaian version-not the problem really- the problem is that I use Mozilla/Firefox and can't seem to find a way to accept the download for adobe flash player (tried 10 times-after initiating changes with internet options) to accept the new program...also tried to force feed it by entering the site URL into my "trusted sites" ...nope...nothing seems to work and when I use Mozilla almost every page pops up a a "gold bar" to install flash player...yet it won't accept the download...I need a work around for this...someone must know a quick and easy solution-can't stand to see this gold bar all the time-never had this problem with my old machine---but new is better?...lol not this time!
Help Plelase!!,

cookiek428,

Try downloading the stand alone install file for Flash. http://www.softwarepatch.com/internet/flash.html

That should do it.

I've been a Postbox user for quite a while (switched from Thunderbird in the early part of the year). I highly recommend it - versatile and powerful client with a nice UI - and as easy to use as webmail. The search features are excellent, and add-ons are a great plus.
