Foxit has one big failing in that it does not scroll down or up using the Spacebar or Shift + Spacebar. Adobe does do this, which is the same as for Outlook emails and web pages. So much easier just to tap the spacebar than fiddle with the mouse or Page Down/Up.

In our law practice we frequently have to add information to PDF forms which we download from various websites. Our problem is that Adobe 8 reader will not permit the added information to be saved. As a result we have to print the page containing the added information then scan it using OCR which is unreliable to say the least.

Will foxit permit saving a completed PDF form?

Yes, you can save an interactive form in the free Foxit Reader.

My immediate reaction is negative because of the install process:
1. It re-arranged my desktop! Few things are more irritating to me.
2. It would have made Ask my default search had I not been looking.
3. It bombarded me with installation of other stuff. Please, let me decide if I like this first.

Stay tuned for my reactions to the product itself. Hopefully it will be worth the install.

I don't know why tech forums keep praising Foxit Reader. It is definitely a fast-loading application, but that is it. It will change your default search engine and do lots of other funny things during installation unless you choose to customise the installation. The biggest plus point, that of being able to add text to forms and so on is available only if you install the tool bar, which is a big nuisance if your browser already has 3-4 other toolbars. In my system it also resorted to typing text vertically, and I could not find a way to make it normal! Finally, I uninstalled the application and all its add ons, and went in for PDF X-Change Viewer, which is much cleaner and easier to use!
