Review: ToolBar 2000 creates a collapsable toolbar for quick access to programs and files

Gain access to your programs quicker than ever with this utility software.

ToolBar 2000 creates a toolbar that pops out of the side of your screen to provide quick access to any programs and files you choose. This is a handy alternative to the Start menu or taskbar icons; and depending on how you use your computer, it could be a helpful tool. The created toolbar is completely customizable and easy to navigate, so you can set it up to suit your specific needs.

As soon as you open ToolBar 2000, you're ready to start using it. Hovering your mouse over the right side of the screen will cause the toolbar to pop up. The program automatically includes certain items by default, but you can easily remove anything you don't want by right-clicking on it and selecting "Delete." Adding new items is also easy, as you can either drag and drop an icon into an empty cell on the tool bar, or right-click on that empty cell and select the program you want to add. At the bottom of the tool bar, there is a navigation button that lets you move between different categories to make it easy to organize your programs and find what you're looking for.

This app has an intuitive interface and it's definitely a nice desktop addition. The toolbar didn't always pop up in our tests, though, but hopefully that's just a bug that will soon be fixed. Since this app is free, it's certainly worth a try if you're looking for a way to better organize your desktop and gain quick access to your favorite programs.

Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of ToolBar 2000 7.1.
