Review: Record keystrokes and more with Free Keylogger Platinum

Record keystrokes, Web activity, and more with this stealthy but easy-to-use keylogger.

Free Keylogger Platinum is an easy-to-use solution for monitoring keystrokes, copied text, and Web surfing, surreptitiously. Users can't detect or find Free Keylogger Platinum when it's on the job.

Installing Free Keylogger Platinum opens an easy-to-use online tutorial/setup page. Following instructions, we typed text into a field and then right-clicked Free Keylogger Platinum's tray icon. A report page recording our keystrokes (including backspace, etc.) opened along with a Configuration dialog with General Settings, Security Settings, E-mail delivery (for reports), and Text Preferences. Some features, including screenshots, are displayed but inactive; you must purchase an upgraded program to activate them. But the free tool monitors keystrokes, clipboard, and Web surfing, depending on how you configure the General Settings. To access a report other than today's, we just opened the app and entered a date in the report field, either directly or by the pop-up calendar.

We like that Free Keylogger Platinum offers both a customizable hot key combo and password to show or hide the app since some users (like your kids) can be clever. We also like the ability to search reports from the program's interface. Free Keylogger Platinum proved as stealthy and effective as similar freeware keyloggers, though its easy setup process and optional password stand out.
