Review: Magix Camera MX gives you a feature-packed camera and photo manager

Take better pictures on your smartphone or tablet with this neat and feature-rich camera app.

Magix Camera MX adds some serious power to your gadget's camera and even throws in some free online storage for fun. It makes your pictures look great, even if your smartphone or tablet's default camera isn't really up to snuff. It obliterates Android's default camera in terms of features and performance, and can stand tall against most other camera apps on the Google Play store.

Magix Camera MX gives you a more polished camera for shooting pictures and videos. It has all of the features you'll get from Android's default camera and adds a few more, such as a timer and better control over your flash. All of them are a lot easier to manage, thanks to translucent buttons that keep all of the features available while giving you ample room to frame your shot. There are even a few nifty effects (like a kaleidoscope, mirror, and thermal shooting mode) and Instagram-esque filters that you can put onto your photo as you're taking it, though some of the more interesting ones require a premium upgrade. You don't need to buy the expanded version to unlock free online storage in the app, however. Magix Camera MX will automatically store up to 500MB of photos once you sign up. While that's not a huge number, it's still a nice bonus that fleshes out the app's great photo-management features.

All of the above mentioned features combined with the awesome photography and video-shooting features available in Magix Camera MX make this app tough to beat. It's especially worth the try if your Android's camera is already low in quality, since it gives any camera a major boost.
