Review: iMeme for Mac makes creating memes with popular background images easy

Choose a background and add your text in just a handful of quick steps.

iMeme for Mac allows you to create custom memes on your Mac using a number of popular background images that have been making the rounds online for years. With a fairly straightforward interface, numerous images to choose from, and solid typography to match the memes, you can create a new image in less than five minutes, save it, and share it with friends on any of your favorite social networks.

After installation, iMeme opens to the main screen where you can see a long list of common meme backgrounds. If the names aren't familiar, the images will be, showcasing a number of different people, situations, and animals that have been used as funny juxtaposition since Facebook was in its infancy. Choose an image and then add your headings to the text boxes below it. You can change the text size and style, as well, but the default is the standard Impact font that you see in most memes. When done, you can save, copy, or print your meme for later use, and the files are easy to upload to your favorite social network from there. The interface here is not overly complicated, and considering the single task the app has, that's a good thing.

If you want to make fast and easy memes on your Mac, download iMeme. It sets up fast, it runs smoothly, and it offers a number of options for creating customizable memes with popular images and your own text. It's also free to download.
