Review: DockMod for Mac allows you to customize the look and feel of your Mac's icon dock

Change colors, backgrounds, gradients, and more in your Mac's dock.

DockMod for Mac offers tools to customize the look and feel of the dock on your Mac computer. This allows you to change things like the colors used in the reflections, the shape of the tray, the reflection opacity, and much more. While you can't completely remove the dock, you can greatly customize how it appears, even making it invisible if you so choose.

Installation for DockMod is a bit more complicated than a standard Mac app. After downloading and installing the initial application, you'll need to run through a one-time setup process that will replace and install key files on your computer. Removing DockMod later will be slightly more complicated than a standard app because of this, but the developers do a decent job of providing the necessary tools to streamline the process. The app, itself, has a slick interface showing the desktop options (and you can create multiple desktops or themes here). You can change opacity, alter colorations, change the edging, add a deeper reflection, and change the gradients, effectively altering the full look and feel of your dock.

While the installation process can be intimidating at first, DockMod, once installed, offers a number of powerful tools to alter how your dock looks and feels. If you would like to customize your Mac's dock, this is a great free option to do so.
