Review: Actioncam is a speedy multishot camera with useful added features

Quickly take four photos in succession combined with numerous filters on your iOS device.

Actioncam allows you to take four photos in quick succession using an automated timer for your camera. Combined with photo filters, and some light editing options, Actioncam is a useful free app that will allow you to do some cool things with your camera, including ordering prints of your photos from a built-in store function within the app.

After installing Actioncam, you can load it immediately and start using the camera. By default it is set to take photos every 0.2 seconds, but you can change it to 0.6 or 1.0 seconds if you want a longer delay between photos. Choose your filter and your flash settings and then hit the camera button and it will take the four photos based on the timing you set, displaying them in a 2x2 grid onscreen. After photos are taken, you can save it to your device, share it to social networks, or send it to a service that will print and mail you copies of the photo. There aren't a lot more features here, but the ones that are available work fast and without any issues that we noticed. It's easy to take photos and even easier to share them or order them via the in-app menus.

Actioncam is a free app and ad-supported, but only with banners at the bottom of the screen that do nothing to hinder the performance of the app. Everything it does is done quickly and crisply. It doesn't stall or crash between any menus and the photos look solid. If you want to take quick action shots, this is a great app for doing so.
