Review: MP3MyMP3 easily records any audio you hear on your PC

Record audio from any source, export files as MP3 or WAV, schedule recordings, rip music from a CD, and more, using MP3MyMP3.

MP3MyMP3 lets you easily record any sound you are able to hear on your PC and export it as MP3 or WAV. If you need to record podcasts, streaming audio from the Web, Skype calls, sound effects, or your own voice, this program can help you out.

During the installation, MP3MyMP3 tries to install a toolbar and change your default search and home page, but you can easily opt out of this bundle if you choose the custom installation. Once installed, the program greets you with an appealing and intuitive interface and a great deal of features and customization options. You can easily record audio, rip music from a CD, batch-rename files, create playlists, and schedule recording events for a specified date, time, and Web address. Customization options abound, so you can change the program's appearance by using one of the built-in skins, uploading your own background image, or selecting the desired background and font color from the palette. Recording audio goes smoothly, too, and is as easy as selecting the audio source you wish to record from and clicking the button for recording. Recorded files populate in the main program window and you can easily play back each file with just a click on the "Play" button or by double-clicking the file. You can record and save files in either MP3 or WAV format and adjust the volume and quality for each recording. The program also offers silence detection, which will be quite useful if you wish to record cassettes or vinyl records. Recording audio through our sound card went smoothly and the quality was satisfactory.

MP3MyMP3 represents an all-in-one audio recorder that is well designed, fully functional, and best of all, free. If you need to record any type of audio on your PC or streaming audio from any Web page and schedule recording for a specific date and time, this software would be a good choice.
