iPhone Mounter for Mac is a tool to help you move files between your iOS device and your Mac without having to use iTunes. Since the iOS platform only natively interacts with Mac through iTunes, there are quite a few limitations, including how to move files like music, movies, and books between the devices. This app allows you to do it, manually, as you would with an external hard drive and it both speeds up transfers and eases backups.
When you open the app for the first time, you'll see a familiar interface, modeled after iTunes, showing you the total space used by each type of file on your device. After plugging in your iOS device, you can see the files on there, start moving them, and then interact with them to see what is available. Options are available to move files to or from an iOS device and it all works fairly seamlessly within the interface provided by the app. There aren't too many extra buttons, so the interface works well even if you don't have a high level of technical knowledge, and all of the transfers are fairly quick.
For those who have a lot of files on their iOS device or who want to move things quicker between devices without having to jump through the hoops offered by iTunes, iPhone Mounter for Mac is a useful app. There are other more powerful iPhone backup and mounting apps out there, but this is one of the easiest to use; and while it is $25.95 for the full version, it's free to try. It's overall a decent, effective app for what it offers.
