Review: LiSA for Mac provides speech e-mail notifications

Receive automatic speech e-mail notifications in a real human voice using this novelty app.

LiSA for Mac adds to your e-mail experience something that's probably missing: real time e-mail notifications spoken in a human voice. The app seamlessly integrates with your contacts and e-mail and allows you to create custom notifications -- but comes with a couple of limitations. Still, it's a handy app worth having on your computer.

LiSA for Mac installs quickly and runs from the Mac Menu Bar. From there, you can access a list of your contacts and establish a relationship with each contact, which the application uses when informing you of the origin of any incoming mail. Unfortunately, the app offers you no way to manually add contacts to the notification list. Once the app is up and running, it gives you a vocal notification whenever you receive a new e-mail in your local inbox, making sure that you know about it right away. The notifications are prompt and spoken in an excellent voice. However, it would have been nice to have alternative speech choices.

LiSA for Mac's vocal e-mail notifications ensure that you won't miss important e-mails ever again. If you receive many e-mails every day and would like a convenient way to get notified as soon as they reach your inbox, without having to visit it, you should download this app.
